The Leicester Business School (LBS) at De Montfort University is composed of five different departments, each offering a more focused approach to an aspect of the business world. These areas are Accounting and Finance; Corporate Development; Human Resource Management; Politics and Public Policy; and Strategic Management and Marketing.
Taught at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, while classes for current professionals and for those interested in research are also available. In addition, the school offers itself as a source for business information as a result of its own research that it conducts. The wide scope of that research includes data in areas that include human resources, entrepreneurship, housing and health policy.
The more than 5,000 LBS students that matriculate to the school each year are based in the school’s Hugh Aston Building. Built at a cost of slightly over $46 million, the Aston Building also houses a number of other departments that make up the entire school.
LBS’s Business Works program brings the current student population together with businesses in the Leicester area that seek to solve problems and offer solutions.
