With engineering serving as its main focus, the Paris-based ENPC School of International Management, ENPC SIM, has served as a French business school for the past three decades. An indication of its strong attachment to MBA candidates is the fact that another name it has acquired over its tenure is ENPC MBA Paris.
The roots of the school date back approximately 270 years, when the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées engineering school first opened. Yet it would take 240 years for the idea of building on that knowledge would take shape. The concept was forged on delivering an awareness of management skills that would be able to further the student’s development.
All of the classes are taught in English, despite the main French location. While the link to engineering remains a key facet, the truth is that less than half of the estimated 200 students have a background in the engineering profession.
The MBA program is completed in a year, though it does offer a different strategy for those so inclined which is built on developing more of an international perspective. These students split their year between Paris and other partner schools in the United States, Japan and China.
